This LEED® Gold renovation of a 1922 former industrial warehouse in South Seattle serves as a new auto sale and service facility for Stadium Nissan of Seattle, featuring Nissan’s electric car, the Leaf. The space includes an auto-showroom, retail area, service and waiting areas, service bays and back-of-house.
The design reuses materials from the original space, including interior wood siding, existing fire doors and furniture from the previous dealership.
Finish materials are left raw, including wood, concrete and a steel-clad “box” that houses office and administrative space. The design uses energy-efficient lighting and heating systems, and the space is ventilated with oversized fans and overhead doors that fully open the space to the street.
